Defranco vs. SouljaBoy
Is it just me or did youtube, just do what I think it did! Here's Defranco yapping on about SouljaBoy and IceT and what do I see popping up on my screen? An advertisment promoting SouljaBoy. Ironic much? I don't listen to Hip Hop or whatever so this whole conversation was a little 'why do I care?', but its Philip Defranco Its kind an addiction. Oh and what I said about his Youtube retirement...may have been a little over zealous.Monday, June 23, 2008

As a long time follower of the Brisbane based band The Grates I'm ecstatic! Over their new song Burn Bridges. The video clip is available to view on Youtube http://www.thegrates.com/, and respective Facebook and Myspace accounts.
It’s been a while since I’ve listened back over their music, but I remember how much fun I had dancing to them on Beth’s apartment balcony! Drinking goon and playing pool. It’s strange how quickly things change. All this is good timing though, as of the 29th of June til the 7th of July Queensland owns my ass.
This means driving, drinking and hanging out with the people I miss!
Here’s looking at you kiddos.

WOO EWWW wooo do dooooo
Season 4 (Espisode 9) - Forest of the DeadA continuation from ‘Silence in the Library’ episode 9, ‘Forest of the Dead’ definitely does not disappoint. The episode begins with CAL, a small innocent child watching television. CAL so far has been an external observer, but clues throughout the plot have directed a connection between her. The library and the population sized missing persons.
The Doctor (faint), Donna, and an expedition team including a new character twist Prof. Riversong
(played by Alex Kingston) are trapped in a library the size of a planet. The library, however, is infested with the Vashta Nerada. The Vashta Nerada is a race of swarming creatures that hide in the shadows and hunt down there prey with both instinctual and intellectual thought. This is proven by the Doctors attempt to communicate with the species. As the story line progresses we discover the location of Donna, who in the previous episode vanished from the Tardis unexpectedly, and more plot twists in regard to Prof. Riversong and her connection to the Doctor are revealed.
It is presumed that Prof. Riversong will pop up in future episodes/series as her connection related primarily to ‘the future doctor’. She is also in possession of the future Doctor’s sonic screwdriver which she uses throughout the episode. My personal response to this new character is that of hesitance. She seems like a well developed character, but my hope that Rose will resurface to be the Doctor primary love interest. This makes me want Prof. Riversong out of the picture entirely.
Most will agree with Rose, Billie Piper, returning to the series at some point soon. Hints and snippets have been cropping up over recent episodes, but in particularly with the re-introduction of Donna, Catherine Tate.
Donna is an interesting character and though I was a little concerned with the actor choice, Catherine Tate has proven herself rather well! She is at times common with her language, but funny, and opposed to the usual love interest, her character is more of a companion along for the ride. This in itself is refreshing to see.
Conclusively, ‘Forest of the Dead’ in combination with ‘Silence in the Library’ have been a positive contribution to the Doctor Who series and I would recommend those that have not seen them to “acquire” a copy in the near future.
To all a FNORD and to a FNORD goodnight

You've just been Philled in!
Now for a young man such as Mr. Defranco to accumulate such a following and promote his videos as much as he's done, it would seem that a youtube retirement is completely left of field. My own personal speculation leads me to believe that he is planning something sneaky! Like a kid with his hands in a jar labelled 'The Internet', he's reaching for something out there thats goingto either be a shock or a flop!
so heres to SXEphil! May your ways be devious and your fingers sticky!
